  • How the collaborative economy is changing our society - and your role in it!?

What's all this talk about the Collaborative Economy/Society? About Collaborative Consumption/Production/Finance? How will it shape our economy and society and future? And who or what is OuiShare? After so many (new) people attended one of the events during the OuiShare Summit Berlin and the SharingCityBerlin Week in the first week of June and after the OuiShare Berlin Facebook group has surpassed 600 members and keeps growing by about two a day, we thought it is time to present to all the newcomers and everybody interested what OuiShare is and we will like and promote the collaborative economy/society. We have planned to start with a presentation of about 30 min. and open up to Q & As before digging deep into discussions and getting to know each other and what and why the collaborative economy inspires or attracts each of us. You are welcomed to join and bring friends and folks who want to learn more or might get involved. And like every good event we will finish off with formal beer and informal talks. Location set now to Supermarkt. Regular OuiShare meetings (Stammtisch style :-) will follow for those of you interested in getting more involved or wanting to establish some more continuity and having more impact in promoting the collaborative economy. Of course we will also continue and add other events like traditional OuiShare Drinks, OuiShare Talks and other formats to be discussed and presented - maybe you even want to organize one yourself. If on Facebook please also sign-up on: https://www.facebook.com/events/508003395966525/

  • Exploring the "Co": Work in the Sharing Society

Exploring the Co... - Work in the Sharing Society (English version below) Ganztätige Konferenz. And here the English version EXPLORING THE CO - Work In The Sharing Society The world of work is changing: permanent jobs, climbing the career ladder, finances, social status and traditional notions of security are today being questioned by a growing number of people around the world. But it is not only individuals: more and more companies are also beginning to rethink these outdated notions. The reasons are as diverse as complex: with existential competition for the best talent and new technologies that make decentralised working possible, development cycles become shorter and shorter, not to forget the economic, political and social pressure, to produce in resource-saving and eco-friendly ways. In response to our outdated working structures and systems has grown a movement of social innovators, activists and initiatives who choose to consciously think and act differently. They call for self-organisation, with the goal to redefine the very concepts of 'work' and 'value'. Thus, a variety of new models for housing, finance, nutrition and work are being developed, often in the form of cooperatives or alternative business structures. Against this backdrop we are working to create a new culture of sharing that redefines economy, industry and commence alike: Welcome to the Share Economy! As with anything new, the Share Economy has challenges that need to be addressed. In the search for alternative organisational structures, there is the need for a new vocabulary and the necessity to develop participatory platforms for a variety of stakeholders - for workers and businesses, as well as politics and government systems. We want to tackle these challenges head on this June 3, together with guests: What do these developments mean for our working lives? How can we most efficiently live and work in the Sharing Society? What types of spaces, formats and political representation do we need? How can we finance our own livelihoods? And where lies the limitations of the Sharing Economy? In our search for suitable answers to these problems (after all, one answer will not be enough), we will call on support and collaboration from a variety of organisations and experts in the field. • Volunteer Gathering & Happening for the OuiShare Summit & SharingCityBerlin Week

In the style of the funny and successful DEADLINE SPRINT SPREE (have a look here (http://www.supermarkt-berlin.net/en/event/deadline-sprint/): ) we invite all volunteers, supporters, OuiSharers already in town and all participants of the Berlin OuiShare Summit and SharingCityBerlin Week events the next days to join us at the Supermarkt for a last day preparation and organising feast. We did the same one day before the OuiShareFest and it was a lot of fun and great for getting to know each other. Of course there will be drinks and food and music involved and lots of contact and meeting great people. It will feel more like a funny sit-in with friends but will still be very important to make the events the following days possible and make the collaborative economy and approach to changing our society visible. So who will be in? :) Dropping by for 2-3 hours or staying the whole happeing? Every contribution counts. Bring your friends along and what else to do with this event? Please share :) and we kindly ask you to sign up here (https://www.facebook.com/events/1376253335997059/) on Facebook aswell. Thanks, see you and let's collaborate to make the OuiShare Summit and SharingCityBerlin Week possible, successful and visible. And here the whole program:

  • OuiShare Talk with Charles Eisenstein

    Supermarkt

The Age of Communities OuiShare Talk & Conversation with Charles Eisenstein and guests Time & Date: Friday 25 April 2014 at 7pm (doors open at 6pm) Address: SUPERMARKT, Brunnenstrasse 64, 13355 Berlin Cost: Free entry Language: English, but questions and feedback also encouraged in German Refreshments: Drinks and snacks available for purchase from the bar Registration: To register please send a brief email to [masked] Join us for this special event where we aim to get a better understanding of the sharing economy, focusing on both Eisenstein's work as well as local Berlin initiatives exploring new economic and labour models. “We are all under systemic pressure to find something to sell, so aspects of life turn into a service. This pressure is pushing towards economic growth, which means more and more of nature being converted into products, and more and more human relationships being converted into services. The whole thing works as long as there is still some nature to commodify, and something we call community that can be turned into monetised relationships.” - Charles Eisenstein [We are entering the moment where anything is possible, OuiShare, Sep 2013] Program Program 7:00pm Introductions 7:15pm Keynote Lecture by Charles Eisenstein 8:00pm Question & Answer Session (audience feedback encouraged) 8:30pm Short impulse sessions by guest respondents including Thorsten Wiesmann (artists, scientist, author), Thomas Dönnebrink (OuiShare Connector Berlin), Ela Kagel (Founder of SUPERMARKT) and more guests to be announced shortly. About Charles Eisenstein Charles Eisenstein is an author and speaker who focuses on such wide-ranging themes as consciousness, civilisation, human cultural evolution and de-growth economics. Charles shot to fame as a social and spiritual philosopher with a unique perspective among the Occupy protesters in late 2011, at which time his viral short films and online essays captured widespread attention and reflected the yearning for change that was sweeping across the world. Since then his public speaking engagements and workshops have grown in popularity throughout North America and Europe, as signaled by the pages of videos and musings on his work on YouTube. In the past couple of months Eisenstein has conducted a speaking tour in cities throughout Norway, Scotland and England to discuss the ideas in his new book, The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Tell us is Possible. Drawing on the themes of his previous two books, The Ascent of Humanity and Sacred Economics, this shorter and more accessible work gives an overview of the "transition between worlds" that he believes we are all going through, both psychologically and on a systemic level. The invisible belief systems and ideologies that sustained our civilisation are now falling apart, he writes, and we are being forced to awaken to a "new story" about who we are, the purpose of life, and the sacredness of both life on earth and our true nature as human beings.
