This is a group for all beings trying to bring more compassion and mindfulness into their lives and the lives of others. All are welcome. The intention is to schedule activities for individuals to participate independently from where ever they are and group shares/discussions, as well as, meet ups for children with adults, and adult only activities. It will be specified in the description of each event.

Events to occur 2-4 times per month and explore activities such as volunteering as a group, collective kindness activities, adult silent meditations, mindful reading circles, kid friendly, short guided meditations, self expression through art, yoga, nature walks or maybe just a relaxing beach trip with new friends.

Metta Monday [random acts of kindness, do it anywhere]

When we water the seeds of love, kindness and compassion, it is what continues to grow. Metta is a Pali word that translates as loving kindness. It is a universal love free from self-interest and is typically practiced through meditation. The idea behind Metta Monday is to spread a little bit of selfless loving kindness as a group effort. We will all share the intention of spreading kindness in any way we can that day. There are many ways to extend Metta as a deed, word or thought. The hope for Metta Monday is that it will have a ripple effect felt far and wide. #mettaMonday An excerpt from Metta: The Philosophy and Practice of Universal Love by Acharya Buddharakkhita (1995) : “Apart from its higher implications, today metta is a pragmatic necessity. In a world menaced by all kinds of destructiveness, metta in deed, word and thought is the only constructive means to bring concord, peace and mutual understanding.
