Outdoor Afro Fam!

Just to be on the safe side I am canceling tomorrows hiking activity at Blackwell Forest Preserve. We are expected thunderstorms through out today and also scattered storms tomorrow. For our safety I will reschedule this event for later this month. More details to come.

You all have a wonderful weekend!

June 1st has been established at National Trails Day by American Hiking Society.

Lets take a hike and join in the celebration!

Hike details:

It’s an easy to moderate hike, totaling around 5 to 6 miles. For those that want a challenge we can hike Mount Hope, once we reach the South area of the preserve. Mount Hope has an elevation of 836ft. We should complete the hike around 1 ½ to 2 hrs. But keep in mind we will have breaks and will have a chance to view McKee Marsh, Silver lake and plenty of other beauties along the way.

We will start the hike promptly at 10am, so please arrive the latest 9:45am to collect waivers and to prepare.

Dogs are welcome!!! Just make sure they are on a leash
