Walk Warton from Evans Bridge

  • Evans Bridge

Route 563, Washington Township, NJ (map)

    39.626749 -74.572251

  • Park in the canoe put in at the bridge on 563 south of Chatsworth
  • Wharton State Forest contains the longest section of the Batona Trail.  On this walk we will follow very little of it!  Expect 10-12 miles of sand roads, fire cuts with river views and a visit to the lost town of Washington.  The pace will be my normal 3 mph +- with a few short stops.   We leave at 9 am sharp so be sure you know where Evans Bridge is before the day of the hike.   Call if not sure: [masked]  tree2short @aol.com
