Los Angeles, CA 90068
Hollywood sign/Batcave hike. Go through the park and meet at the VERY end of Canyon Dr. in Bronson Canyon Park North of Franklin Ave in Hollywood. At this location we can see the cave where the batcar came out of in the 50’s Batman TV series. At the top of the hike, we will be above the Hollywood sign looking out to the city and even the San Fernando valley to the otherside. Imagine being at the spot where millions around the world desire to be. Pretend to be a star and join this hike.
Meet at 10 AM. Leave at 10:15 AM. This hike is a moderate hike--not suited for beginners. It should be around a 3 1/2 hours hike. It has a significant elevation gain. You start at the bottom and hike all the way up on mostly fire roads. Meet at the VERY end of Canyon Dr.(Where the road ends). Go through the park gates and look for a parking lot inside. The first lot on the right is dirt but there is a smaller paved one on the left further up. The hike is approx. 6 miles and 1,100 elevation gain.
Bring suntan lotion, and plenty of water because this hike doesn't have much shade. Sneakers are ok.
Meet at the 1st large parking lot inside the park.
RAIN POSTPONES HIKE.
Cross posted with another Meetup group and the Sierra Club. You'll have to sign a waiver since it is a Sierra Club hike.
