What a beautiful day for the Big Day Out! Fall Foliage was peaking and made for a gorgeous back drop as we peddled 25 miles through breathtaking scenery. I felt a personal victory because I hadn't been on a bike in about 20 years. Hind parts were sore but well worth it. The hike was a mere walk in the woods compared to what we've done in the past. The last leg was though as we paddled down the river. Our biggest obstacle was trying to maneuver around the rocks. After biking and hiking, rafting was tough. It was a lot of work because the water levels were low in some spots and you really had to put some muscle into it. Towards the end, we were exhausted and could have used a tug boat to pull us in. All in all, the Big Day Out was a Big Success!

The Big Day Out lived up to its name. We started with a 22 and a half mile bike ride , followed by a 3 mile hike and ended the day with a 10 mile rafting trip. It was physically challenging but well worth every moment.

This is going to be a lonnngggg day. The Big Day Out starts at 8:30 a.m. All meals are included which is good. We start out with the biking leg of the trip. Total miles covered is 25. Yep, 25 miles. The good thing is you don't ride straight through, you stop for lunch and continuing biking after that. It's mainly down hill which is good. I have not been on a bike for ages. So, I'm a little nervous about that. Had an opportunity to do some bike riding at Piermont but others weren't interested. We squeeze in a quick 3 mile hike and then go leisurely down the river for our rafting portion. The evening concludes with a delicious dinner and roaring campfire. The whole day takes about 12 hours. So far, we have 4 people that are confirmed. If you're interested, please call 1-800-WHITEWATER as Dom had suggested. Time is running out! The bus is filling up fast.

This looks like LOTS of fun. However, I'm running the Color Run in Lehigh that Saturday.

Everyone, If anyone is on the fence regarding this meetup, you should decide sooner rather than later. I called the reservation office today 1-800-WHITEWATER to get a status of the bus for the October 5, 2013 event. There is only one bus leaving for the Big Day Out - Bike, Hike, & Raft the Lehigh Gorge In one day and it is getting filled. If you have not made hotel reservations, please contact me ASAP. I am looking forward to this event and would love it if more people joined.

I have a room already reserved at the hotel, The Woodlands Inn, for Friday Night October 4, 2013. The hotel does not have Saturday Night available, but I am on the wait list. The room can accommodate 4 people. It has two double beds. I am looking to share the room and cost. The room is $200.00 for one night. I am female so female roommates preferred. Please contact me through the site if you are interested. Thanks
