What we're about
Oxford Zen Group is part of the Soto Zen tradition. Led by a zen monk, the group offers the deep and direct teachings of Buddhism, using the method by which the Buddha came to awakening - Zazen, seated meditation.
We offer a safe quiet environment where you will be helped to find the meditation posture that is right for your body, and where you can learn to find a steady, peaceful state, free from distraction. There is something deeply instructive and reassuring about stillness and silence, and there are very few places where you can find time and space to allow yourself to settle deeply enough to experience the benefits.
No special skills required. We all have a busy monkey mind. You are welcome, whatever your age, background and experience.
