*****Bumped to fall 2021 due to Covid*****
Few rivers in Missouri match the fall beauty of the Osage River. Why not paddle like a French explorer in a big voyageur canoe? Now is your chance. Options open to camp Friday night at Pikes Camp Access. We will depart at 9AM on Saturday and proceed on to just upstream of the confluence of the Missouri River and take out at the Bonnots Mill Access.
- Maximum crew of 14 in this voyageur canoe. Minimum crew of 6. No paddlers fee required as I own the boat, but you will be required to sign a waiver.
- Solo & tandem canoes/kayaks are welcome to join up as well for both Friday evening camping & canoeing on Saturday. We will need a minimum crew of 6 on board the voyageur as noted above.
- About the voyageur canoe: Colter’s Run, named after John Colter (America’s first mountain man) is a fast canoe, but is also well suited for river expeditions. It remains undefeated in many river races including the Missouri River 340 (MR340) and Race for the Rivers (R4R).
- What you need to bring: Gear to camp Friday night at Pikes Camp Access (optional). On board you will need to pack a lunch & snacks, hydration, canoe paddle, PFD, hat, shades, sunscreen, water shoes and clothing to match the forecast. I have a few extra canoe paddles if you don’t have one. First come, first serve.
Car pooling is encouraged. My Jeep departs from the St. Louis area and seats 7 including our shuttle driver.
Post and/or PM me with any questions you have :)
