Join Courtney on this up and down hike to 2 waterfalls in the Big Meadows area of the park.
Dark Hollow Falls is one of the more popular hikes in the park. This hike starts at the Byrd Visitor Center and is an out and back hike. We hike down via a broad path to the falls where we'll have a chance to take some picture. Then we make our way back up to the top and cross Skyline Drive to reach the trail to Lewis Spring Falls through the Big Meadows Campground.
Lewis Spring Falls is the 4th highest falls in the park, coming in at 81 ft. This Loop trail connects to the Appalachian trail before branching off to head down to the falls. Hopefully we will see some Peregrine Falcons or Barred Owls on this hike.
