Not long from now, machine learning and artificial intelligence will have advanced in capability and complexity beyond what we can easily imagine or predict. They will become deeply integrated with society and radically alter our daily lives. We'd like to get together to discuss, philosophize, and inevitably argue about, the nature of this very near future.
Imagine a world in which society has developed and embraced advanced artificial intelligence. How will that change the daily life of an average human? What kind of work (if any) will humans do? How will our leisure be spent? How will social interactions look? What will the government look like? How will our morality, ethics, and empathy be affected? If AI and robotics do most of our work, how will the average human find a sense of purpose in life?
This is our 5th topical discussion. The topical discussions are more organized and directed than our monthly evening get-together but the goal is much the same: Get a group of enthusiastic futurists, technologists, and theorists together for stimulating, open-ended discussion.
