Owls and Coyotes (Wildwood BPA Loop)

  • 5 days ago · 9:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

Let's head a little further north this time. This run is pretty chill, no big hills or anything. Maybe we'll see an owl or two, or even some coyotes.

Note that the address above is approximate, but gets you very close to the intersection. The route is

• Left on Wildwood Trail (crossing BPA Road)

• Right on Firelane 15

• Right on Firelane 12

• Right on BPA Road

• Left on Wildwood Trail (crossing Newton Road)

• Right on access path (or Firelane 10)

to Newton Road and the parking area. The route ends up being about 6 miles total.

Here is a map of the route:

http://www.mappedometer.com/?maproute=300672

We'll head over to the Clearing Cafe afterward. See you there!

Would you like a chance to feel really good about helping a child this Holiday Season? Have I got indoor, positive volunteer activity for you. Email [masked] (Patrick) and ask for the afternoon shift (do helmets with me :) . The Holiday Bike Drive Is TOMORROW (where it was on my Calendar) instead of today (where it was also on my Calendar). When I dashed off it was silly except they are still short of help tomorrow afternoon AND the bikes are soooooo small, and sooooo cute. I would put in a smiley face, or a bike, or a small child or a community service emoji, but it might well be misinterpreted. :)

Can anyone give me a lift? I live near Mississippi and Fremont (east side of river, close-in N Portland), and can get to other pickup locations via MAX or bus. No car.

Do you still need a ride? I'm in your neighborhood and would be happy to pick you up.

Sorry. Having a hard time finding the meet up. Sitting at the light at the top of the hill. Any help?

Hey folks. Looks like I need to put myself back on the injured list for a stretch. Very frustrating. Enjoy the woods for me and I'll look forward to joining you all again soon!

I am running early, come along and we will be an early group! Yes, I see the BPA/Newton loop, and the "Run by Shawn's House" loop...but I am leaning towards the Wildwood heading South and back, lollipop route, smaller elevation. Interested?

Early clan (John, Nadya, Craig, Diego, new person, etc.), anyone want to carpool in the morning from Clearing? Reduce impact and save space for others! Yeah?

Running a bit late. Living in Troutdale doesn't help. Is anyone waiting for a ride? If not then I'm just going to the trail.

I'm coming straight to the trailhead as well. Shooting for 8

Hey! I have a sweet new, never used, Nike ultra running vest for sale, size large...(http://www.roadtrailrun.com/2016/07/review-nike-trail-kiger-vestsnug-as-bug.html?m=1). Should fit those 6 ft or more. Most snug vest I've ever worn, zero bounce. Price $75. Also, I have two unused/new Ultimate Direction body bottles plus (

Anyone up for doing some more miles before or after?

    November 29

    • Sally L.

Hi, this is my first run with this group but I"m interested in doing a few more miles before the primary run. How far do you typically go and what is your pace?

    • JasonB

Early group is leaving at 8 and will be doing around 5.5. Probably plan on 9-10 min. miles. Regular run pace,@ 9, ranges from about 8-12. Pure speculation.😉

7:40. Cheryl, do you need a ride from your place?

Brian, I have a run idea for December. Lets do a image/theme/holiday run. This was a Santa hat run https://www.strava.com/activities/455726600 I participated in last year. Absolutely no idea how to do this, but maybe a Tuesday night East side run (laurelhurst and ladd's have some keys). Maybe Tam could help, someone with an advanced watch who can look at the route while we run, mine doesn't.

I need an ugly sweater to run in. Does anyone have one? I am so ready to move up to "adorable" :)

      1 · December 1

    • JasonB

If things get adorable then there will surely be some cheek pinching going on. Easy there...facial cheek pinching that is;-) Jeesh.

If anyone is ever interested, my favorite loop is Lower Macleay to Pittock, through the Zoo, up to Council Crest, down Marquam trail to the waterfront and back to Macleay through the Pearl. Lots of good views and water fountains spread throughout

And 14 miles RT, called the "Three Hills Route" :)....
