REGISTRATION: Opens 1 week prior to event.
DESCRIPTION: At 6 miles for Start Point #2, this view-rich walk, with its steep ascent and descent, is definitely challenging. Be cautious trekking it in extreme heat and bring water. Although you'll be mostly on sidewalks and paved roadways, good walking shoes are a must. Watch out for Portland's notoriously broken sidewalks in need of repair.
This route, unlike our more typical loop walks, is the same in both directions, with an option (in red) on the way back for a new scene. Stairways are marked and offer alternate connector routes up and down the hills.
SAFETY & COMMUNITY: For safety and community, we now require first and last name, your photo, email address, and neighborhood. Please review your Meetup membership profile and make sure the required info is there. If you are unwilling to be known, this is not the group for you. Thanks for helping us make these events open, engaging, and fun!
Guidelines as of March 25, 2021 allow for outdoor recreation in large groups with 3-foot social distancing. A face covering is required ONLY if 3-foot distancing is not feasible. For our walks in the open countryside, distancing should not be an issue.
Please be aware that some participants will not be wearing face coverings for a variety of very good reasons. We respect everyone's right to choose what's best for them. DO NOT register for this event if you are uncomfortable with this approach.
NEW RULES: COURTESY, FAIRNESS, NO SHOWS & GATE CRASHING:
If you register for a meetup and later discover that you are unable to attend, you MUST unregister AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE of the meetup. Failure to UNREGISTER AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE will result in a NO-SHOW, regardless of circumstance.
Membership in this group will be discontinued after two consecutive no-shows.
Thank you for honoring safety and fairness to other participants and our time and effort in organizing these events. We sincerely appreciate your interest and participation.
