[Update 16 March] We have not cancelled - Online Only

In light of national guidelines following COVID-19 being classified as a National Disaster, we have taken the decision to only stream this week's meetup without any in-person event.

It is with excitement that we move into a new era of streaming and look forward to establishing a new "business-as-usual" together online.

RSVP to get your Zoom streaming link on Thursday.
The session will open at 18h00 with the meetup presentation starting at 19h00 – just like any other month.

Afterwards, we will attempt to use (abuse?) Zoom’s features to socialize for anyone who wants to hang around. In trying times like these, community is important. We look forward to you still joining us even though it cant be in person.

Moving towards streaming the meetup is a challenging, yet exciting, proposition. If you have any thoughts or ideas on how to make it great, please let us know via a message on meetup.com. Also, if you know anyone who would be interested in our meetup but is usually unable to attend, now it the time to invite them :)

We look forward to seeing you online

[Update 13 March] OPTIONAL REMOTE ATTENDANCE

While South Africa is not a region currently classified by the WHO as having "local transmission" of COVID-19, as organizers we feel it is important to have contingency and look after our community.

For this reason we will be offering the option of streaming this month's meetup presentation for those who wish to attend remotely. Simply indicate in your RSVP that you will be attending remotely and we will send you a streaming link on the day.

As things currently stand, you are still welcome to attend in person. In line with community guidelines, there will be hand sanitiser available and we will skip serving food this month. Now, more than ever, it is important for us to be able to track attendance so we will have to turn away anyone who has not RSVPed ahead of time.

Similarly, if you start to exhibit flu-like symptoms, please rather attend remotely.
