Welcome to the inaugural PHP Sussex meetup! Formerly known as Brighton PHP, we'll be meeting every month for talks, discussion and community building, along with a healthy amount of food and drink!

We have two cracking talks lined up for the evening.

John Dalziel is a web developer at https://www.phidigital.com and co-organiser of Worthing Digital. He specialises in web applications on AWS, the modern web developers toolbox.

Join John for a tour of web application architectures, from LAMP through to Serverless. We'll discuss the shared responsibility model and find out how to combine AWS services to build more robust applications.

Simon Downes, Software Development Manager of Holiday Taxis, will also be talking us through 'Levelling-up as a Developer'.

Junior to Lead, decent to great, novice to master. The road is long and isn't really a road, more an infinite number of possible journeys. Wherever you are on your journey, how do you reach the next level? What even is the "next level"?

If you're an experienced developer who's been programming for years, or you're taking your first steps to learning how to code, you'll get something out of the evening. All are welcome!

We'll be kicking off around 18:30. Free pizza, beers and soft drinks will be on offer, so join us for what should be a fun, informative and delicious evening!
