ONE OFF Shakespeare Class

  • Dec 9, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Hi Folks,

Let's finish the year with an introduction to Shakespeare.

I'd like to look at two speeches:

JOAN LA PUCELLE (Joan Of Arc) from Henry VI, pt. 1

Act 5 Scene 4

"First, let me tell you whom you have condemn'd:"

http://www.meetup.com/ParisDrama/pages/SHAKESPEARE_JOAN_LA_PUCELLE_Henry_VI_pt_1/

MACBETH

Act 5 Scene 5

"She should have died hereafter;"

http://www.meetup.com/ParisDrama/pages/SHAKESPEARE_Macbeth_Act_5_Scene_5/

See the PAGES MENU for copies of the scripts. (click on PAGES. Then click on SEE ALL PAGES).

The class will provide an approach to understanding Shakespeare speeches - we'll break them down, make them clear, then build them back up again. Please look at both speeches, regardless of the male/female criteria.

€10 ON LINE. €12 PAY ON THE DAY.

I'll be in the room from 6pm. You're welcome to come early in order to ask any questions or to give yourself time to change. The class will start at 6.30pm sharp.

Please bring a bottle of water and wear loose clothes that you can move in. Also, if you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, I ask you not to enter.

The Salles St Roch is a rehearsal space, just off Ave de L'Opera. Nearest Metros: Pyramides, Tulieries, Opera.

Regards,

Peter

Learned so much in just this one session. Thanks Peter for giving us these tools to approach and act a Shakespeare text. So much packed into the session, and it never seemed rushed.

Excellent, as usual. And, as usual, too 'brief a candle'.

Hi Peter, I do not see the text photos anywhere. I am curious about the text only but also a Q; since this is a class and not an acting workshop (apparently) could non actors participate?

Hi, the texts are under the PAGES menu (not the PHOTO menu). I've now attached direct links to the texts. It is an acting workshop, so if you'd like come, then I would like you to participate!

great - something to get one's teeth into...if I can cancel - postpone - or whatever two prior commitments for the same evening..but I am working on it..
