UX expert review in not just a process

UX expert review ("Heuristic evaluation") is a process of examining the user-interface of a product and identifying usability problems. The interface is judged through recognized usability principles (the "heuristics"). The process is quick, relatively inexpensive & easy to perform, and in many cases, it requires the involvement of product managers.

Preparation before performing the review is essential. It includes defining main target users and their usage-scenarios. Properly done, an expert review can give a better overall perception and a clear, prioritized to-do problems list.

UX expert review is not just a process: it is a state of mind relevant at ALL phases of product development.

In this lecture, Shai will share many do's & don'ts examples from a wide variety of products, from his vast experience in leading UX expert reviews.

Yaron, thanks for the feedback & I'm sorry it wasn't clear to you. Here is a 1-liner of the expert review process: preparation (identify users-personas & usage-scenarios) >> reviewing >> report findings.

Started good and for me kind of lost focus as it continued. Maybe it was just me but in the end, when thinking about "it's not just a process" I didn't have a clear picture of what the process /was/

    Thanks :-)

A good comment I got after lecture ended:
UX Expert Review should also look for feature that can be removed from the interface (as well as for missing features). Thanks to Boaz Rossano for pointing-out this issue.
