We are excited to announce the return of one of our most popular yearly events. The Seattle Christmas Ship Parade is truly a northwest tradition and it has become a tradition for our club as well. Up until last year we had done this dive every year for over a decade. The only reason we stopped was the scheduling of the parade changed but we are making changes this year to accomodate their changes and we hope you will all like this event just as much.
The ship now stops at Alki Beach Park. The dive is not as interesting as our previous site but it still gives you the chance to get wet. Many of our members choose not to dive at all but rather hang out talking diving, watching the ships and feasting on dinner. Whichever you choose you won't be dissapointed.
If you plan to dive you should plan to be in the water no later than 4pm. That should give you plenty of dive time.
The ships are due to begin around 5:10 lasting until 5:30, The event organizers provide us with a blazing beach fire and hot chocolate with cookie treats.
Dinner reservations are for 6:15 at Salty's which should give you plenty of time to get from the beach to the restaurant and have a drink in the bar before dinner. I have never been dissapointed with a meal at Salty's and the ambiance is a favorite of mine.
When you reserve a spot you are actually reserving you seat at dinner. If you plan to attend but not eat dinner then please make that clear so we can adjust to the number of seats available for dinner. If you plan to eat dinner with us please make sure you take a spot early as this event usually fills up fast. We will start with 10 seats for dinner.
