Let's do a working session photoshoot

Some of you have been asking me for a workshop on learning better photography, especially people who are shooting on automatic. I thought it would be cool to go out and actually shoot using aperture and shutter speeds to teach how to use them, when to use them and the differences your pictures will look like. Anyone can come but this will not be an advanced working session. We will be dealing with Depth-of-Field and possibly capturing fast-moving objects (birds flying, etc.). Many of us have used the Peavine Trail and I thought this place would give us an opportunity to shoot close ups, flying birds, landscapes, talk about composition, etc.  Bring your point-n-shoot or your DSLR. Any of the advanced photographers are encouraged to come and help out if so inclined.

I have uploaded a document that might help with this photo shoot workshop. Just go to the tab that says More and then click on files. It is the top one and is labeled Intro to Photography1. Download it and read it. It should help with many of the things we will be doing that day.

I hope everyone had a great time and hopefully learned a thing or two. I didn't plan on posting shots but I put in some facts about each shot. I wasn't going for great shots, just shots for explaining depth-of-field.

I have no idea how I messed this up. I read the address and got it in my head it was a house to meet first. I even passed the humane society several times, i guess is near the peavine trail. i think it said at one point 1626 sundog road. I was looking for a house. sorry.

Larry updated a great file on beginning photography. If you go the top of this site and click on more then on files, it is the first one. It has a lot of excellent information.

If you are talking about the $5 dues for the club, yes. You can give it to me or Stef.

It does cost $2.00 to park, so if you don't have a pass bring cash or debit card. The ticket is $100.00. We will meet at the trailhead.
