What we're about

Aloha! Are you interested in trying the fastest growing water sport in the world? Are you already an avid stand up paddle boarder? Regardless of your skill level, please join us for fun, fitness and adventure on the Intracoastal, local lakes and ocean environments in and around Palm Beach, Martin & Saint Lucie Counties. For those who are new to the sport, we offer Fabulous First Timer meetups where you can learn how to stand up paddle board in a safe, flat water environment with an ACA certified SUP instructor. Don't be fooled by imitators. I've been paddleboarding for 16 years when paddleboarding was just starting up with the locals in Hawaii. This meetup is 9 years old. I've taught over 6,000 folks to stand up paddleboard during that time offer. My goal is that you have fun on the water and learn a new skill in a safe environment. We offer paddleboard rentals at reasonable prices. Limited kayak rentals are also available.

We paddle from the Lake Worth Lagoon in North Palm Beach County up to Fort Pierce in St. Lucie County. These areas give us lots of opportunities for great paddling. And don't forget paddlesurfing and ocean paddling at any number of locations along the Treasure Coast & South Florids coastlines! Racing and paddleboard yoga meetups round out some of the many experiences you can have on a stand up paddleboard while meeting new friends!

Come paddle and explore the amazing water environments in Palm Beach County through Martin County and into St. Lucie County while becoming more fit and connecting with new friends that share your passion for paddleboarding!

BTW, we appreciate watermen and waterwomen from all of the other paddlesports. If you or a friend wants to join us in a kayak or canoe or one-man outrigger, it's not problem. The most important thing is just getting out there on the water and meeting new like-minded friends! Mahalo (thanks) for checking out our meetup group.

If I don't cancel the event on meetup; then the event will take place.

See you on the water! :)

Paddle & Snorkel@Peanut Island - BYOSF (bring your own snorkel and fins)

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE MEETUP DESCRIPTION BELOW
If you love paddleboarding and snorkeling, this event if for you! Check out some of the best snorkeling in Palm Beach County on the east side of Peanut Island at high tide. SO MANY FISH TO SEE. It will be a fun, recreational paddle where we paddle to the east side of the island and take our time and have fun in the water. High tide will be at 10:08 am when the water will be most clear. Bring a snack!!! This is a great place to chill out and relax which is generally what we try to do when we paddle here. Why this date/day? We need high tide for good water clarity. High tide is not looking good for a weekend in July (except for one weekend I may not be able to paddle).

  1. Who should come? Any one who already knows how to paddleboard (NO FIRST TIME PADDLERS-NO EXCEPTIONS) AND likes to snorkel (you can be a first time snorkeler) and see a lot of fish. You must bring your own snorkel equipment INCLUDING FINS. Wait! Don't want to snorkel? Then just chill on the beach with us! More questions? Contact me via text at[masked].
  2. What rental equipment will be provided? You will get a high quality American made paddleboard along with a paddle, leash and life vest.
  3. How to secure your rental and/or spot: If you need to rent a board, please pay when you RSVP. If you have your own board, please RSVP so I know how many paddlers to expect. THE COST OF RENTAL & TOUR IS $25 (Credit Card, Venmo, Zelle). ADVANCED PAYMENT IS REQUIRED. For Venmo; use @vivian-caylor & include the event date. For Zelle, the phone number is[masked] (under Paddleboard Connection) & inc the event date. If you have a credit card or other questions, please text me at[masked]. We have a 24 hr cancellation policy prior to the event so that other paddlers on the waitlist can attend. Use text to cancel if you can't make it (please not in the meetup comments). If the event is cancelled, you will be refunded. If you have your own equipment, please contribute $3, $5, $10 whatever towards meetup costs. My goal has always been to have a community of paddlers but that means supporting the community as well. :)
  4. What should you bring? REMEMBER: This is a BYOS event. Bring Your Own Snorkel AND FINS. Snorkeling is fabulous at this location but the currents are strong. Speaking of strong current; I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BRINGING FINS IF YOU ARE SNORKELING. If you don't snorkel very often or have inexpensive fins like me; bring a pair of thin shorty socks to wear underneath your fins to avoid blisters. Parking is free and there are restrooms. Otherwise, just bring your sense of fun and adventure and the usual Florida stuff; sun screen, inexpensive sunglasses, a hat that you can get wet and will stay on your head easily, water to drink and maybe a snack to share. Bring watershoes or flipflops to wear before we get on the boards.
  5. When: Arrive at the start time listed above so we can get your equipment fitted and start paddling over to Peanut Island as soon as possible for better water clarity related to high tide.
  6. Where: Carefully read 'How to find us' above. Check GPS the night before so you know how long it takes to get to the park.
  7. What to do if the weather is questionable? I check multiple detailed weather and radar forecasts. I will cancel the event about 2 hours before start if I know the wind will not cooperate OR if there is a strong chance of lightning based on thunderstorms heading our way by event time. If I don't cancel the event on meetup; then the event will take place. One gentle ask....please no negative comments about the weather in the meetup comments. I really do pay close attention to the weather. TEXT ME AT[masked] if you have questions about the weather.
