What we're about

Discover your own artistic voice. Explore your creativity... on ZOOM during lockdown. (and in person in Brighton soon, I hope.)

My classes are for everyone, from first time beginners, to more advanced and accomplished painters.

I have an MA in drawing, and been teaching (at university level, in further education, and privately), for over 20 years, and I love watching my students bloom.

Especially with beginners, it is so gratifying that there are so many "Aha!" moments. Students are delighted and amazed by what they can create, and have often said, "I can't believe I painted THIS!" (music to a teacher's ears)

I also nurture the growth and development of more experienced painters, helping to release creative blocks, and push painters a bit beyond their comfort zone. I'm also happy to critique work, always trying to help artists be the best of who they are, and not imposing my style.

(And when we are not in lockdown mode, my husband is a great cook, and often makes us lunch! )

I like the day-long workshops, because you have time to really learn a new technique and then to get stuck into it and create a beautiful piece.

I also really enjoy painting outdoors, making sketchbooks, and painting and drawing in good company.

Each class and workshop is slightly different, so please read the individual descriptions.
