Boardgames in Creswell #27: 8-Hour One-Year Celebration!

Come help the Creswell Game Group celebrate its one-year anniversary by coming out to this free, super-sized, eight hour gaming event that starts at noon in Creswell, just ten minutes south of Eugene!

What will we be playing this time?
Several members will be bringing a big pile of board games from their collection, and you're welcome to bring your favorite ones too! And if there's a specific game you've been wanting to try, post a comment about it below. If a member of the group has it, I'm sure they'd be happy to bring it so you can try it out!

What kind of games, you ask? Some of the games that have been previously featured include: Shadows Over Camelot, Settlers Of Catan, The Resistance: Avalon, King Of Tokyo, Rex: Final Days of The Empire, One Night Ultimate Werewolf, Coup, D&D, Small World, and Betrayal At House On The Hill. If these sound fun to you, then come join in!

WHAT WILL YOU  BRING?
Feel free to post a comment listing any games you're considering bringing. It may help reduce the learning curve (ie: less time explaining, more time playing) if we have an idea of what to expect.

THE VENUE
We usually have the entire Community Center to ourselves, meaning no background noise or crowds. It's a great place for gaming!

The community center is at 99 South 1st Street in Creswell, just off the main street, behind City Hall and the fire station.

Here is a link to a picture of the Creswell Community Center building:

The room we'll be in is the one on the left in that photo.

FOOD
Snacks are okay. We just need to leave the room as clean as we found it.

Drinks are okay, but all beverage containers must have a screw-top lid, to help prevent spills.

PARKING
There's plenty of free parking in the center's parking lot.

I hope you can join us. Whether you're coming from Eugene, Springfield or Cottage Grove, it's just a short drive to Creswell to join us. It's well worth it!

PRICE
This is a free event, open to all board and card gamers in our area. Donations will be accepted at the event, which help pay for the space and snacks.

Me too! I hope to see you at future events. You'll probably see most of us at EGG as well. :-)

This was a super-fantastic game day! A great mix of new and familiar faces got together to enjoy each other's company and play some games. Thanks to everyone who came by, played, and had pizza. Our local board game community is awesome, and I was proud to be able to host an event that brought so many of us together. Heck, even the elusive Corey made a brief appearance, which is something like having a loch ness monster or sasquatch sighting at the group! Hope to see ya'll again soon!

I hear Tragedy Looper's rules take a little while to figure out, but then it's well worth it. Consider me interested in playing it as well. :D

Had a great time once again. Good food, good games, and great people! What more could you ask for (other than a yacht, mansion, unlimited funds in your bank account, peace in the Middle East... ah crap...

I'll bring all the staples I always do (Catan, Avalon, Scrabble, etc.). In addition, Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Tsuro, Love Letter, and Mage Wars are now all making a showing in the old game bag. Also, I'm very interested in doing pizza again, probably close to the 4-5pm halfway mark. :)

Cool. I'm going to pick up three Family size pizzas at Papa Murphys then.

I'll be bringing a huge pile of games tomorrow. Chuck and I figured out how to play Dead of Winter last week, so we can play a bit of that. I'll also bring Mascarade...which we were supposed to play last week (some jerk didn't bring it). I'll bring Manila on the off-chance Chuck actually decides to play it this time.

That's so funny, I was JUST logging back on post a comment to ask if you were going to bring Dead Of Winter again. Cool. And Manila too? Huzzah!

Yep! I've got a few games I want to play. I'm sure we can't get them all in, but we can darn well try!
