How long have you been interested in Paleo/Primal Lifestyle?

I began my health and fitness journey in December 2011, but it wasn't until September 2012 that I adopted the paleo/primal lifestyle. My partner Andrew still struggles sometimes with the whole "no rice/pasta with dinner" aspect, but he loves most things I make (except dessert - apparently there is just no substitute for sugar!).

How has your life changed since adapting Paleo?

Being diagnosed with IBS (that thing doctors tell you you have when they have no clue what is wrong with you), I was forever trying to work out what I could and couldn't eat. Now that I only eat meat and vege (no fruit sorry - I prefer savoury!), my issues have gone away, my skin is so much cleaner, and I have so much energy!

What is the best advice you could give to someone looking into Paleo?

Pick one site/book/podcast only! Whilst reading everything by Mark Sisson, Robb Wolf, Loren Cordain, Steve Kamb (the list is endless) seems like a good idea, you will quickly find yourself overwhelmed with information and will be afraid to make the changes! So start slow, and ease your way into it.

How might you hope to benefit from attending the Brisbane Paleo Meetup?

Meeting like minded people to socialise with, Vibrams and all! Sharing success stories, providing inspiration to others, and being there for those who need it.

Just your average guy who enjoys reading, cooking, fitness, oh and travelling! I adopted a paleo/primal way of life in September 2012, and I will never look back!
