Who want to buy a quarter of GRASS FED beef for $3/lb!?!?

I just bought a quarter weight of beef from my farmer hook up in WI. He had a customer that backed out last minute so has (1) quarter of grass fed beef at his home is Schaumburg ready for pickup. It's just shy of 200lbs all butchered and wrapped in butcher block (frozen and labeled). It is the same cow I have and let me tell you it is DELICIOUS! This guy is legit and doesn't even charge tax. You wont have to pay shipping either...you just have to call him up and go to his home in Schaumburg and pick it up at a time he's home. The cow was butchered on 11/11/12 so it's very fresh. If anyone is interested (or if you wanna group up and meat share) you can comment away and coordinate. First come first serve, people. BTW - Beef makes a great gift!!

If you wanna do your research: His name is Don Andrews and he owns and operates Port Andrews Stock Farm up in WI where he exclusively raises grass fed beef, bison, and pigs. Contact#[masked]

Man, snooze and lose around here! I'm up for it as well, and if the beef is all spoken for, I just found out about Krusen Grass Farms http://www.krusengrassfarms.com/ and will be heading up there soon, could pick up...

I claimed it and am picking it up tomorrow morning. The total was just under $660 (218 lb hanging weight x $3 per pound). If someone wants half let me know. I am in Rogers Park. It sounds like it should be pretty easy to divide most of it, assuming it is well labeled. A few cuts he said there are only one of. Max I think was first after me, but email me if you want half. What's the total processed weight, David? How many lbs are you getting for the $660?

      December 5, 2012

    • david w

The hanging weight was 218. He said he hadn't weighed it since processed but estimated it was probably 175 or 180 lbs. Not sure how much of that is meat and how much is bones.

Also would be interested in sharing/buying. To confirm, the processed price is $3/lb? or is that hanging weight. If it is processed price-I am definitely interested.

I'm emailing you now! I'd like up to 50 pounds. Even 20 would be great.

WOW - You guys are ALL OVER this! Just for the record, this guy is 100% genuine, kind, and personable. Great guy and a friend of mine. Be patient as he fields all your requests for information...it's just him working out there alone. He's a one man operation. Thanks!! Enjoy!

The interest is strong. Do they have another WHOLE cow to share with this group for $3 per pound?

    December 5, 2012

    • Nicole

He would def sell a WHOLE cow...depends on his supply of cattle. They have to be ready. Cant rush it.

very interested--have upright freezer--can store for a few months (self-defrost, not good for long-term storage) would split with someone --and yes interested in some yummy piggy, too :-)

      Deep freezers are recommended...lasts longer.

I might be interested. Can you provide a break down of the cuts and weights included. I would definitely be interested going in half with someone

How you decide to split it up will have to be between you guys. He has it all in 3 big heavy duty trash bags at pick up. You all as individuals would have to lay it out and divide it up.

Gosh I wish I had a big freezer! I could probably take 15-20 pounds of beef...and Schaumburg is a good location for me since I live and work in northern burbs.
