ATTENTION ALL PADDLERS Freya Hoffmeister, the International paddling sensation will be speaking at the Blue Marlin Fish House on Saturday, June 19th, at 7:00 PM. Come and join us for food and drinks as Freya recounts her 332 day, 9500+ mile voyage around Australia; a journey that earned her the World Record.

She is a woman of action who has proven her naysayers wrong by prevailing in condition most of us would never consider braving. Freya is living proof that through perseverance, anything is possible. After kayaking for only four years, Freya set out to circumnavigate Australia. She successfully completed the journey on December 15th and earned her place in history.
Circumnavigating Australia is regarded as one of the planet's toughest sea-kayak challenges. At various times Freya faced massive storm-swells, tropical heat, crocodiles, box jellyfish and Great White Sharks, one of which took a bite of her 18-foot sea kayak and left a tooth firmly embedded in the hull.
Perhaps the most remarkable challenge was three stretches of sheer limestone cliffs, each more than 100 miles long with stiff prevailing headwinds and no reasonable place to land. She was at sea for more than 30 hours to cross each section. Amazingly, she successfully navigated a 350-mile open-ocean crossing that took her six days, and saved her weeks of plodding along the coastline.

Below is a link to her website to lean more about her and her adventures.

Come early for refreshments; stay late for questions, answers, autographs, photo opportunities and party.
