Because of current health restrictions, we will not be able to meet at the library. We now meet every Thursday online via Zoom: Join URL: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/596136024 You will need to have Zoom installed on your computer. If you visit the above link, it will have you download the app you need. It's free. We hope you will join us. Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting, whether you are a practicing Buddhist or just interested in learning how to meditate. A meeting typically includes a very short (about five minutes) service, a talk about some subject relating to Buddhism and/or meditation, meditation instruction and guided meditation. Our meetings are led by Sensei Morris Sekiyo Sullivan, a Zen master in a Vietnamese lineage. He also holds a certificate in Methods of Japanese Psychology, which are personal and spiritual growth methods derived from Japanese Buddhism. In addition, he is a certified Path of Freedom facilitator. Sensei Morris is the spiritual head of Volusia Buddhist Fellowship in DeLand and also officiates regularly at White Sands Buddhist Center in Mims. Along with officiating at Buddhist services, Sensei Morris is a frequent speaker at interfaith events and speaks at least twice a month at Unitarian Universalist churches in Central Florida. Most people sit on the chairs the library provides, but you are welcome to bring a cushion if you prefer to sit on the floor. Wear whatever you will feel comfortable wearing--no special attire is required. We will meet monthly during 2017, but on a varied schedule because of other events at the library. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or visit our website, www.volusiabuddhist.org. We also meet in DeLand, so also visit us at the Volusia Buddhist meetup for information about other meetings.
