Each “Campfire Tales” event will feature several readings from local authors and storytellers, told over a campfire at the historic McConnell Mansion. Attendees should bring blankets or chairs and acoustic instruments if they have them to play around the fire after the readings have concluded. These events are FREE and family-friendly; s’mores fixings will be provided.
Three Campfire Tales events are planned for the summer – June 7, July 12, and August 9 – and all will run from 7:30 to 9pm.
WE'RE STILL LOOKING FOR STORYTELLERS! If you know an author or teller-of-tales who’d be willing to spend some time around a campfire entertaining guests of all ages, please put them in touch with me! Interested artists should contact LCHS Executive Director, Dulce Kersting-Lark at [masked] or[masked].
(The June 7th date already has all the authors they need. Dulce said she would like the July 12th date to be dedicated to Native American stories. August 9th can be anything. Poets and singer/songwriters are encouraged to contact her also. Her preference is for stories with a historical emphasis.)
