Formerly known as Yogilates Dance Masala, these sessions are like nothing else you've ever tried, almost guaranteed: a combination of stretching, strengthening, connecting the body and the mind to work together, creativity stimulation, meditation, agility training, and MORE! What makes these classes unique is: * their size: maximum of 8 people so lots of personal attention and a bond between participants * the combination of active movement-based meditative practices with guided free/ecstatic dance, and a whole spectrum of techniques and practices designed to get you in touch with your own body's needs * a safe environment where you can come out of your comfort zone * acceptance of wherever your body/mind is and tools for how to work with whatever is present * the chance to deepen the experience through other art forms such as visual art or creative writing * neuroplasticity training to help keep the brain and body in continuous development * playfulness like you might never have experienced in a dance class before * chance to develop *your own* intuition and follow it to your own unique expression of life and creativity (no need to imitate or copy a teacher or push yourself to do things you know are not right for you) * development of a sense of deep trust in yourself (& the others in the class) and complete permission to dance your own dance (with guidance) * work on increased sense of gracefulness and awareness which brings a sense of power and peace. SPACE IS SERIOUSLY LIMITED - ONLY ROOM FOR A MAXIMUM OF 8 DANCERS for ANY GIVEN SESSION! The Wednesday morning classes are perfect for harried parents who hate the idea of the gym/boring fitness classes and for those wanting to start their day off with something active and centering. I offer a Thursday evening class as well (one space still open in there) but if it's not full then you can attend that one to make up for a missed session. Price: The 9 x 1:45-2 hour class card is only €90 (€10 per class!) and can be paid for in two equal installments at the first class and the 15th of April. When you purchase a card you explicitly agree to make the second payment; regardless of whether you miss classes or not. Unless you can find someone else to take over your card if you are unable or not wanting to continue. If you run out of strips and the season isn't finished you may purchase single sessions for the same price as one from the card (€10). Wear loose, comfortable, breathable clothing in layers for both lying on cool floor or cooling off and for when you get hot (and you will); bare feet or non-slip socks. Water is available at studio. If you are more comfortable using your own yoga/fitness mat then bring it but there are plenty at the studio. A small hand towel is useful. The classes are open to all genders/identification: we dance with each other in a spirit of openness and respect. All religious and spiritual perspectives are welcome as long as they come from a base of acceptance and compassion for others. Some physical or mental disabilities can be accommodated. Contact Suzan to discuss. With adequate registrations (5 people), the sessions will start on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27TH. TO REGISTER (send and email to [masked] or send a private message to Suzan Lemont or to the Playspace message board). Looking forward to dance with you!
