I started this group because I felt it would be beneficial for children of black heritage to socialise and identify with other kids "who look like them", I feel this is vital to their personal development as a minority in the UK.

There are a multitude of negative images or lack of images (of black children) in society (media/television e.t.c.) so, with your support, one of my aims is to really help uplift our children, so that their racial pride as a black child is as 'solid as a rock'.

I'm also looking to bring together parents/carers so that we can construct a solid support network and as a bonus form genuine and authentic friendships.

London is a vast city in which to explore, summer is soon heading our way so I think it'd be fun to join families together and enjoy the upcoming seasons! Spending it alone is pure isolation to the soul, so let's get living and build genuine friendships along the way.

Parents & Carers Raising Children of Black Heritage is a group primarily aimed at children aged between 3-15 years, but all ages are welcome. Children of "black heritage" can include a multitude of ethnicities; 'Black' and 'Mixed Heritage' - i.e. Black/Caucasian, Black/Asian.

This group is for anyone interested in participating in engaging activities with their children.

Activities will range from:

• Adventure days

• Bowling

• Cinema

• Circus

• Parks

• Zoo

• Weekend trips e.t.c.

As an added bonus there will be events added solely for parents such as; meet and greet at coffee shops, nights out and social dinners.

PLEASE NOTE:

• NO SHOW/NO CALL/NO MESSAGE: You will be removed from this group, I operate a 'THREE STRIKES and you're out' policy. This is due to previous experience, hence low tolerance! It requires a great deal of time and effort organising events, as 'host' its important to be aware of numbers for an event, so I don't think it's a lot to ask,  to keep us informed of attendance.

• BEHAVIOUR: I ask that all members (parents and children) be respectful of each other, rude, threatening behaviour will have your membership annulled.

After reading this, if you still want to meet other families with a similar outlook to you, then please go ahead and join!

Important: Member 'conduct' will be reviewed every 8 weeks, any inactive members will be removed, as this group is for those keen to participate, especially over the spring/summer months.

Once again, many thanks for showing an interest in this group and I look forward to meeting you all in the near future!
