20 km hike in south-west of Paris

This week-end, weather will not be perfect with a bit of rain. Lead by Marc, our group's newly appointed (but already very experienced) hike leader.

Hike level : advanced, for experienced hikers having the ability to walk quite fast (5k/hour).

Pls then RSVP Yes  only if   you like this kind of demanding walk, as we will not be able to wait for those with no such hiking experience !

Meeting point : your guide Marc will be waiting for you directly at 10h15 am at the Gare de Chaville Rive Droite  Railway Station

We will gather at the outside the railway station, exactly at this place : ttp://tinyurl.com/msmxkjd

How to access :

By car: there is a car park right at the railway station. It's free on Sunday.

By train : the following train is departing from Paris Saint Lazare :     Train VULE  - Direction Versailles Rive Droite    Departure at  09H35 from  Paris Saint Lazare

Arriving at 10h04 in station Chaville-Rive-Droite.

We will start our hike at about 10h15.

Description :  20 km long and quite hilly, with a walking pace of about 5 km/h.

We will have a lunch break, + shorter breaks at Jardy and at Meudon Observatory.

This hike is a loop - returning at the Chaville-Rive-Droite railway station (that we should reach at 4 to 5 PM).

What to bring : proper hiking gear and a raincoat, enough food and water (we recommend 1 liter of water and a full lunch, plus snacks)  + a hat, proper sports shoes or hiking boots  - as footpaths may be muddy sometimes.

Cost : € 2.00/person  (pls bring exact change)

+ the train ticket : approx 7€ return (but transport is free if you hold the monthly Navigo pass).

The best buy (even a few days before) is the Mobilis ticket/pass for unlimited 24h travel that day within zones 1-3 (costs 9.05 € - or half this price if you are <26 y.o.)

SMS or call Marc (his cell N° will be sent to all attendees on saturday evening) if you have trouble finding us.

Hope to see you on Sunday,

Marc

Important :

1. Please take part in this event if you know your speed level and ONLY IF you accept to hike under your own responsibility - including when walking along the side (or going across) of any road.

2. RSVP policy : you have to update your RSVP to NO if you cannot attend, and early enough please (that is before 6 pm on Saturday) as in this case there is an automatic upgrade for those on waiting list ... to the main list !

3. NOT Open to those still on waiting list by Saturday evening : another time, sorry ... group cannot be TOO big - for obvious comfort & security reasons.

Our trainee has certainly passed the hiking exam with excellence, choosing a really nice path, giving explanations on the way and catching some southern European runaways...:-) - Thank you Marc!
