As everybody as surely realized by now, we now have TWO LOCATIONS for badminton. Based on the demand for people to play, which was evident from the amount of people regularly on the waiting lists, we worked very hard to secure a second gymnasium. Maybe slightly unfortunately is that it was only available at the exact same time as our original gymnasium.
1) South Paris - The NEW LOCATION is CROUS, left outside the RER Port-Royal. The doors are on the far left of the building, and are marked Centre Sportif. Just say you are with PIBA badminton at the reception and you will be shown the way to the courts. We recommend this location for all players living on the South side of Paris (Left Bank) or with easy access to RER B.
2) North Paris - The ORIGINAL LOCATION, is Gymnase Jean-Verdier, 11 Rue de Lancry 75010 near République, Metro Jacques Bonsergent. We recommend this to all players living on the North side of Paris (Right Bank).
Both locations will have sessions starting at 10am and midday.
So we will have 4 SESSIONS to choose from, so you can select your time and your location - for as long as we continue to fill all four sessions. If you are on the waiting list for a session that is full please check out one of the other sessions, and if you can really only make the one session that is full, please contact me and I will try and shuffle some people around.
To rent the second gym we've had to start an association, called the Paris International Badminton Association (PIBA), and everybody who plays will get there own membership card. Starting the association and having the four sessions is now costing us more money, but we will maintain the same prices as before, for as long as we can keep all fours sessions full.
The fees therefore are the same as last year. i.e.
Annual Subscription - 15€ (payable to PIBA). If you've already paid this to Annick then just let us know, and you will get your ID card for free.
Members Fee per Session - 6€.
Guests Fee per Session - 10€
Shuttlecocks - Plastic shuttlecocks are provided.
Rackets - We have one or two spare badminton rackets available, but it's best to invest in your own if you're a regular attendee.
Changing Rooms - Changing rooms and showers are available.
Fun informal group or private lessons are available free of charge every week at both locations. Just ask for Sean or Jon. We will also have soon some free handouts explaining the; 1) rules of badminton, 2) badminton skills, and 3) badminton tactics.
Playing at Other Times
