What we're about

If you're into biking (all types), fitness, the environment and believe biking provides the best solution to eleviate Park City growing traffic problems then this is for you. BIKE SATURDAYS is about changing a mindset. The personal and societal benefits of bicycling are enormous, ranging from individual health (physical AND mental), environmental and economic development to community-building and personal empowerment. Biking benefits retail sales, services and tourism related industries and creates jobs. However, the lack of serious biking infrastructure such as well defined bike lanes, secured racks, trail and route maps, political support, safety and education is what prevents biking from reaching the next level -- even in Park City, one of the hottest spots for cycling in the entire country.

BIKE SATURDAYS Season Kick-Off Ride

Needs a location

Although this event is a few months away, and the date may change and others added prior to May 4th (decided by the weather), we feel this is good time to start promoting the ride series. The Park City Hostel is the sponsoring host and we'll be meeting there for most scheduled BIKE SATURDAYS events. Look for a variety of supporting social activities including BBQ's, live music, product drawings, demos, clinics plus information regarding Park City's traffic problems and what we, as cyclists, can do to help. This where BE PART OF THE SOLUTION comes in to play. Most of Park City's trail systems can be accessed from the Hostel, as the Rail trail is just outside their back door. There are no fees to host or to participate and everyone is welcome, all abilities, all types of bikes including E-bikes. Road bikers will ride a different in-town paved trail, and mountain bikers will ride a new off-road trail system each week. Both are designed to familiarize riders, especially those who own bikes but rarely ride them and are part of the majority who feel it's unsafe to ride city streets -- or off-road and single tracks. Stay tuned for further information . You may call or email anytime for further information at[masked], [masked]. However it's SKI SEASON and it looks like it's going to be good one. Enjoy and we'll see you in the spring! Dennis Ketterman
