Over the last two years, tens of thousands of resin 3d printers have found a place in the offices of dental professionals. They are a key component in advancing digital dentistry--where a practice upgrades from bite molds and poured plaster models to intraoral scanners that output 3D printable files by default. Savvy dentists and technicians are even printing custom biocompatible surgical tools and dentures designed using rapidly-advancing dental CAD platforms. This month we will be joined by Cary Jay Forest of Sprintray (www.sprintray.com), the Los Angeles-based manufacturer of MoonRay DLP (resin) 3D printers. He will share with us some of the cutting edge developments in this real-world application of 3D printing. The speaker will be on from about 7:00 to 7:30 or so; the rest of the time will be our usual networking. Bring a cool print or a machine you're working on, or feel free to come even if you're just wanting to know what the technology looks like and what it can do. Thanks as always to our host, the fabulous Supplyframe DesignLab, and to Innovate Pasadena for refreshments.
