On Jan. 22, 23 & 24th, plus Feb. 6 & 7th, Passive House California will be hosting a course for achieving our California 2020 Net Zero Energy building targets using the Passive House framework. This course will qualify participants to sit for the internationally recognized Passive House Designer/Consultant Exam. The course is taught by the Passive House Academy using North American example projects and Inch/Pound units.
About: The training will give students a deep-dive into how to easily achieve Net Zero performance (and more) using the basic building science that underpins the Passive House approach. You'll learn all the skills necessary to design and consult on both Net Zero and Passive House projects.
Structure: This eight day intensive course is broken into three modules to accommodate your busy work schedule. The course consists of five in-person training days, followed by three days of online training. The online training is self-guided and can be done at the participant's own pace. This structure provides a balance between invaluable in-person time and flexibility. The class is followed by an optional Certified Passive House Consultant exam held on March 11th, 2017.
Module 1: Jan. 22, 23 & 24th, 2017
Module 2: Feb. 6th & 7th, 2017
Module 3: Online (at your own pace.)
Module 4 (optional): Exam on March 11, 2017
Instructors: This course is taught by none other than Tomàs O'Leary (Mossie), who is internationally known for his ability to convey an enormous wealth of building science information with ease and humor. Tomàs will be ably assisted by a local Passive House California Apprentice Instructor.
Costs: The full course cost is $1,350.00, which includes all in-person training, a full training manual plus the online module. The exam fee is an additional charge. Both the course + exam + PHPP may be booked together for $1,850.00.
