CA Energy Code & Passive House Comparison

Join us for a beer and our first 2013 monthly Passive House California meeting that includes the following 45 minute educational presentation. (FREE to PHCA members, $10.00 donation at the door to all other attendees.)
Topic: CA Energy Code and the Passive House Standard - A comparison
Title 24 pt 6, CA Energy Code is our legal minimum building performance requirement, as well as important for proving Passive House in CA. Yet there are many misconceptions about each of these energy standards and how they relate to each other. We will compare various aspects of each side by side and look at the similarities and differences.
Speaker: George J. Nesbitt, Environmental Design / Build.
George has been doing CA Energy Code Verifications & energy modeling for over a decade. He has used many different energy modeling software packages; Rightsuite, Micropas, EnergyPro, TREAT, PHPP, as well as others, and his own spreadsheets. He is a Certified Energy Plans Examiner, HERS Rater (I+II) and iPassive House Consultant, as well as other certifications. George was heavily involved in the 2013 Energy Code update.
