Please join us for annual Memorial Day ride to Bushnell National Cemetery to pay respects to our fallen heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
This is what we do! There is no greater way to say thank you for your freedom than to remember service members you gave their life for us. If you have never participated in this event, you are missing out. Each year there are close to 500 bikes riding down I-275, so many that all I could see in front of me and behind was Patriotic American Bikers. Once at the Cemetery, there is a first class service attended by thousands. There are plenty of guest speakers to include the Governor, Pledge of Allegiance, Prayer, songs and of course Taps.
Let’s meet at the McDonalds parking lot on Bearss Ave at 8:00 a.m. and have a KSU at 8:45 a.m. sharp. We will be riding to the I-275 Rest Area and meet up with hundreds of other riders to ride to Bushnell. The Rest area KSU will be at 9:30am. Please remember to arrive with a full gas tank and bring something to sit on (chair) and a bottle of water and prepare for possible rain (rain gear).
Following the ceremony, we will ride 3 miles over to the local VFW post and have lunch. The VFW prepares for this event each year and is always ready for a crowd. This is a very popular destination following the ceremony.
After lunch, our return ride route will be a scenic ride filled with turns and hills. We will stop in Nobleton for gas. The ride route back to Tampa will be:
• Hwy 476 west
• Nobleton/Croom Rd south
• Croom Rd west
• Hwy 301 south
• Mondon Hill Rd east
• Spring Lake Hwy south
• Blanton Rd east
• Ft. King Rd south
• Eland Rd/Morris Bridge Rd southwest
• Hwy 301 and Fowler Rd (301 Mini-Mart) in Tampa is rides end
The plan is to be back in Tampa around 2:30-3:00pm.
