What we're about

This group was formed for anyone age 18 & up who wants to enjoy nature peacefully. To join and remain a member, you will need to post a clear, recognizable facial photo of yourself and bring a positive attitude!

The premise of this group is for everyone (including us!) to have fun enjoying nature while leisurely hiking, backpacking, etc. while leaving out the stress. If you are a speedy hiker, step counter or need to know what time the event is over- this is probably not the group for you since we leave no one behind. Our pace will allow time for catching your breath, snacks and photo ops at scenic spots- but not turtle paced. The amount of attendees will be generally kept small 25 or under depending on park rules, parking availability and the organizer’s preference.

Reading the entire event description beneficial to determine if the event and level is right for you and what you may need to attend. It is each member’s responsibility to research the event posted, directions and the park rules. We are always happy to answer questions after you’ve researched the event. Please feel free to email the event organizer with your question(s) before the day of the event through Meetup. Always be respectful of your fellow hikers and please leave topics for debates and heated discussions at home, members are here to relax and unwind. Harassment or using the group for soliciting will be grounds for immediate removal from the group without notice.

1. Last Minute Cancellations- THREE cancellations in a rolling year after the RSVP has closed the evening before and you will be subject to removal from the group. Please understand that someone on the Wait List who was truly interested in attending our event could not attend because of you.

2. No Shows- TWO No Shows in a rolling year and you will be removed from the group. A No Show is not appearing for the event or cancelling 3 hours or less prior. We held up the group by waiting for you and see reason for #1 above.

3. Habitual Cancelers- Members who sign up for events but never or rarely attend and/or habitually cancel under 48 hours. These members “may” have other members on the Wait List moved up and over them until the list is diminished or be eventually removed from the group.

NOTIFICATIONS- To be notified of changes, updates and night before details, go to your Peaceful Hikes and More profile (not the Meetup profile) and update to receive these "As They Are Sent". Otherwise you will not receive Organizer contact info and meetup location details.

DOGS- we are a people only group.

SMOKING- smoking is not permitted during events

**Our Meetup group is FREE! We started this group to enjoy time outdoors with like-minded nature loving individuals and our goal is to keep it peaceful for both the members and ourselves. We reserve the right to remove any member at our discretion.
