  • Native American Hand Drumming Circle
Native American Healing Drumming Circle Ceremony Friday 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm donations honored with Grandfather Rick McBride E&E Center 4301 N Fed Hwy, Pompano Beach. Please arrive promptly and please note this is an INDOOR drum circle. We will play Native American style hand drums and rattles as we pray and sing for Global Peace and Personal Healing. When we drum, we sometimes say it’s the heart beat of the Earth, the Mother of Creation. As this a traditional Native American drum circle, we sing these sacred songs in the original Lakota language (no songs in English). Please join us. If you do not have a drum or rattle there will be drums and rattles to share. Older children are welcome when accompanied by a parent. There is no charge for Ceremony, but donations are accepted to support the continuation of the circle. It is traditional for women to wear skirts or dresses to Native American Ceremony. Please arrive promptly; it is important for everyone to be present at the start of the Ceremony. Rick McBride is mixedblood Tsalagi (Cherokee) who has walked the Red Road for over 30 years. He was named Cante Lute (Schan-tay Lou-tuh) by the spirits through his sundance chief, which means Red Heart. He is a sundancer and has been traditionally trained and authorized to lead ceremonies, such as inipi (purification lodge), prayer with the Canunpah (Pipe), drum healing and so forth. He has been publicly teaching these ways for some ten years now. For further information, visit his website: http://www.mixedblood.info NOTE: Grandfather Rick builds drums. • Silent Peace Walk
Vanguard Village Westwood 17 Association Invites you to a Silent Walk for Peace In an effort to bring people closer together, further unite our whole community, and allow participants to experience a greater sense of unity, we gather to mindfully walk together, with peace and presence. Focusing on the present moment, we walk slowly and in reverent silence, convinced that our silence expresses, more eloquently than spoken words, our desire for peace and our hope for unity in the community and the world. We join our hearts in communal silence, touching the desire for peace and unity that resides deep down within us, while we embrace the pain and the suffering that exists in the world today. We contribute to world peace by becoming more peaceful ourselves. Peace Walk lasts less than 20 minutes. Participants may join the walking group at anytime. Silence is appreciated. Come and enjoy the peace of the morning, and after the walk join us for coffee and conversation. (Coffee and Donuts will be served) This is a non-political and non-religious event. We gather together in spite of our different opinions and different paths. Please, respect the intentions of organizers. Thank you! Peace and Unity! Peace in our hearts brings peace to our families. Peace in our families brings peace to our communities. Peace in our communities brings peace to our nations. Peace in our nations brings peace to the world. Let there be peace on Earth, and let it begin with me. • Drum Building workshop
Drum Building workshop Sunday 9 December @ 10:00 am tp 2:00pm Grandfather Rick McBride Materials deposit due Monday 26 November. Pay Pal on website (https://mixedblood.info/drum workshop.htm). Octagonal drum $165 ($105 materials, $60 tuition) Round drum $195 ($135 materials, $60 tuition) Register on this page, but pay the deposit using PayPal on the website (link in blue text above) OR send [masked] a message to make other arrangements. I've been building hand drums for 18 years and have helped many people create their own sacred drum, a process I fervently believes in, especially when the reason to build the drum is for use in ceremony. As I teach you how to physically create your drum, I also talk about the drum; when to use it, drum etiquette and technique, styles and songs. I like to meet with workshop participants after the drums are ready in order to wake them up. It takes about 5 days for a drum to dry, in which time it should not be played.
