Middle Osceola (4220') is a peak without a trail on the Trailwrights 72 list. It lies about .3 miles off of the Mt. Osceola Trail and can be reached via bushwhacking a slight ridge line toward the northwest just prior to coming to Mount Osceola.
Please read the entire event description before you RSVP. It is important, not only for your safety, but that of the entire group.
We will take the Mt. Osceola Trail for about 3 miles, then bushwhack to Middle Osceola for .3 miles, and retrace our steps for a total elevation gain of about 2100 feet. Estimated time is 7 hours. If there is interest and enough time, we can tag East Osceola also, adding 900 feet of elevation gain, an hour and 20 minutes and 2 miles.
While you don't have to be an experienced bushwhacker, you must be comfortable hiking off trail and have 4000 footer experience.
Long sleeves and long pants/zip offs are recommended; also recommended are heavy gloves, protective eyewear (such as plastic shop glasses), and a fondness for spruce.

Do not rely on others to have extra items to share with you at the meeting spot or on the trail. You should know how to use all of your equipment - test and adjust it prior to this trip.
