I've climbed throughout NH's Whites and have done a 3 day hut to hut traverse on/around Mt Washington. My favorite trip was in the late fall to one of the huts in winter conditions with my sister. It was so rewarding to get to the hut and enjoy some hot chocolate. My most challenging hike was after having my baby a few years ago, when I felt out of shape and I felt like I slowed down the people I was with. I don't want this to discourage me from group hiking.
To get out hiking at least 2 weekends a month... Maybe more!
Yes, I actually prefer winter... No bugs, or crowds! I also love the sounds of a winter forest.
Hike that vary in challenge... I like to push myself, but only when conditions are safe to do so. I would also like to take my Bernese Mountain Dog with me when appropriate.
Eventually, once I get to know the group.
Hi, My name is Becky and for the last 15ish years, I've been doing lots of solo hiking. While I love the freedom that comes with solo hiking, I enjoy sharing the experience with others. I have been wanting to tackle to 4000 fters for some time!
Great group from what I've seen so far (only been on one meetup as to date)
