What we're about
We are a monthly recurring meetup on the Peninsula in Downtown San Mateo at Engagio next to Caltrain and are soon expanding across the Peninsula.
This year we're going to have a variety of fantastic events with speakers and panels on technology education, workforce development, technology training (for creatives/marketers to also more technical audiences as well), impact investing, the non-profit space, and all topics/speakers open for consideration related to Tech4Good.
Whether you are a seasoned professional across the business or non-profit space or aspiring to develop a career 4Good, this is a conversation and community you will want to be part of.
We're part of a global network of grassroots-organized communities across North America, South America, Asia, Australia and Africa, all exploring social tech tools for social change.
The Bay Area is our largest presence. Alongside SFTech4Good reaching nearly 5000 members, we've recently expanded to 5 Bay Area Meetups across the Peninsula, Silicon Valley, and the East Bay.
We come from a variety of organization types and diverse disciplinary backgrounds. Among them; social entrepreneurs, large organizations, b-corps, non-profits, angel investors, institutional funders, company founders, technologists, marketers, designers, writers, media makers, engineers, data-scientists, and beyond.
A proud partner of NetSquared.
NetSquared gathers together nonprofits and activists, tech leaders and funders, and everyone who's interested in using technology for social change.
NONPROFIT STAFF will find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for those who aren't experienced with technology, and many chances to ask questions of tech-experienced nonprofits and experts.
TECHNOLOGISTS AND CONSULTANTS will find opportunities to put your expertise to social good, as well as the potential for lasting relationships (be they paid or volunteer) with leading organizations in your community.
ACTIVISTS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS will see and be given the opportunity to present on successful uses of technology for social change. Not content to simply focus on "shiny tech," we'll explore what the true potential for social change is in each case, where community organizing work can be made more effective, and where it will have to push technology forward.
