SCCAA Presents: Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home
A Tribe of Heart Documentary

You are invited to this free presentation of this phenomenal award winning documentary.

Watch the trailer:

A riveting story of transformation and healing, PEACEABLE KINGDOM: THE JOURNEY HOME explores the awakening conscience of several people who grew up in traditional farming culture and who have now come to question the basic assumptions of their way of life.
Presented through a woven tapestry of memories, music, and breathtaking accounts of life-altering moments, the film provides insight into the farmers' sometimes amazing connections with the animals under their care, while also making clear the complex web of social, psychological and economic forces that have led them to their present dilemma.
Interwoven with the farmers' stories is the dramatic animal rescue work of a newly-trained humane police officer whose sense of justice puts her at odds with the law she is charged to uphold.
“Beautiful. Courageous. It has raised my awareness to a whole new level.”, “This movie awakens a love I have closed myself to -- Beautiful!”

Great documentary and wonderful, inspirational people. I'm so glad I came back to Meetup —I've found a new community of support :) Looking forward to getting involved with SCAA.

Thanks for all your hard work, Paris. This was a great event and powerful movie. It was encouraging to see some new people and non-vegies there. Some of the videos that were suggested in the discussion would be also good: Forks Over Knives, Future of Food, Fast Food Nation, etc etc.

Thank you for responding to my post. I obviously did not state my question very well. I am relatively new to the whole meetup environment, and readily confess to ignorance about meetup procedures.

Let me try to state my question another way:

The issue that concerns me is not that we won't be able to attend the showing (I have already received acknowledgment that we will be able to do that). It's a matter of duplication of responses--i.e., responding "Yes" (or in my case "Yes +1) to more than one meetup group.

Is there any coordination of lists of attendees between and among the various meetup groups when events are co-sponsored? IT WOULD BE UNFORTUNATE IF SOMEONE IS DENIED ADMISSION BECAUSE OF DUPLICATE RESPONSES.

If there is no coordination of lists, should I revise my RSVP in other meetup groups to say "No"?

Would it make sense to caution people (like yours truly) about duplicate responses in regard to these co-sponsored events?

    Whew! Thank you!

Actually it is sending by just hitting enter! duplications for Facebook either...I am watching the guest list religiously and only noting those names that have confirmed only once. Having said that, like any movie presentation, some people may be turned away. Due to folks just coming off the street. So it behooves us all to be very much on sure to check in at our SCCAA reception table. We will be asking all that are NOT on the tables confirmed list to stand to the side and wait to see if there is room. This will help. Every effort is being done to make sure that all confirmed will be going in. We should have had a double showing and next time we will!

Sorry I meant to direct this comment to Donna. But hope all of you read.

    Need to cancel?
Peaceable Kingdom: the Journey Home on May 15th at the Blue Light Cinema is full to capacity.
This message is both a reminder, if you have already confirmed, and also a plea to please let us know if for any reason you need to cancel ...even at the last minute.
The reason is, is that we have 14 people at this time that would love to go and are on a stand by list. You can email here now or call[masked] at any time if you need to cancel.
No action required now unless you need to cancel. If you have rsvp'd and you got a confirmation email in return, you are on the list!
We look forward to seeing you all there...

Hi folks...just wanted let all of you know that have confirmed that we are almost to capacity. That is great. All toll we have 70 confirmed and you are on that list!

So in order to make sure others that come off the street at the theater, PLEASE...All we are asking is that if for some reason you will not be making this event after all to let us know by replying to this message. That way I can allow others to take your seat....(and look to see you at our next SCCAA event).

This will be helpful with as much notice as possible, even on the day of the event. Y0u can even call 408.355.0436.

There will be a check in sheet at the door. So please do stop by the table, so we can check you off...and to get your free ticket for a chance to win the dinner for 2 at Veggie Grill!

Again, no action needed unless you are NOT coming after all.
    See you there!
