8th discussion: How do we avoid silos within our development teams? How do we encourage teams to have multiple skills? What impact does this have on the team's capacity? What impact does this have on what our teams produce?

Speaker:

Paul Furley @paul_furley (https://twitter.com/paul_furley)

"Too often, developers are handed a specification and hidden away from users - often resulting in poor software and demotivated teams. There is a better way!"

Paul is a backend developer and a sociable chap. He loves startups and digital gov teams. Currently with the NHS.UK alpha project. He recently wrote a blog post (http://digital.nhs.uk/building-software-users-love) about his experience of the value of research in development teams.
