The Cathedral of St. John the Divine will host an inspiring multi-faith celebration and commissioning after the march to share our moral commitment and concentrate our spiritual energies for the work ahead. This service will include world religious leaders, governmental officials, activists, scientists and artists and will be held in conjunction with the World Council of Churches and Religions for Peace, key collaborators in building momentum for decisive faith-based leadership on climate change. The celebration will take place in the Nave of the Cathedral, under an art installation of two giant Phoenix birds, made by Chinese artist Xu Bing from recycled materials. All are invited.
To get to the Cathedral from the March: take the C subway train from 34th Street to Cathedral Parkway (110th St.) and walk a few blocks.
Doors will open at 5:30 pm; the service begins at 6:00.
