Starwalker Project Permaculture Design Course 2016 and on-going. This is a 72 hour, certified design course.
Starwalker Project Announces our Permaculture Design Course #5
72 hour certificated course spanning six weekends.
Why? The world is in a crisis of energy depletion, food scarcity, ecosystem destruction and toxicity that our current lifestyles make worse every day. Our mission is to help people learn to be producers of living systems rather than consumers of resources. The very act of our living should, and can, make the world healthier every day!
When? We now have some options for students. Each class is modular and can be taken at any point during any PDC we give. If you miss a class during your PDC, you can make it up at a later date.
Graduates will receive an Internationally recognized Certification in Permaculture Design. This course is classroom based with hands-on workshops that can be outside (We work with people who have physical limitations).
Our instructor is Alexander Ojeda, graduate of the Permaculture Research Institute of Australia, co-founder of Permaculture Jax and designer/implementer of the Starwalker Project.
$75 per day ($150 per weekend) or $800 for entire series if paid in advance ($100 discount for every friend that signs up.)
Meals are NOT provided. YOU supply your own meals. Everyone has such diverse needs that we have determined that it’s important that we lower the price of our course and allow you to provide your own food.
Work trade option. One day of class for every 6 hours of work trade. For more info, please call (and leave message if needed)[masked] or email [masked]
We MUST get your email or one that you can use to correspond. If you have some special considerations, please let us know.
Daily class sample outline:
Who’s Who? We start with a permaculture innovator, their projects and their lessons learned.
Domains. We will learn about one of the seven domains of permaculture including Tools and Technology, Natural and Eco building, Land and Nature Stewardship, Health and Wellness, Land Tenure and Community Governance, Education and Culture as well as Finance and Economics.

We will use patterns of memory to learn to recall scientific names of plants, animals, bacteria and fungi.
Video. We will watch a video each day that illustrates the subject of that class. This will be during lunch time.
Hands-on. A workshop on one of the following will be completed (class gets to decide which subject). Bee Hut and hive assembly, Solar power systems, Solar water heat/distiller/cooker/dehydrator, Garden systems, Food forest implementation, Natural/eco structures, Safe rainwater capture, Tool use and repair, Systems design, Contour marking, Scythe use, Plant propagation and more!
