About the hike:
Reasonably easy return walk in the Mundy Regional Park, Whistlepipe Gully in the Perth Hills. The trail follows the narrow river as it courses over cascades and small waterfalls and offers views over the coastal plain to Perth. It's really beautiful. BRING YOUR TEENS with a responsible adult. Bring your camera.
Free to me hence free to you.
3.5 Km approx.
Pace: Steady!!!! It’s a walk to enjoy and not a race. There are many photo opportunities and moments to stop and appreciate. Let’s not rush.
Terrain: Some up and down hill. Uneven surface and slippery surfaces. Walking poles are helpful but not essential.
Free but limited space.
How to get there:
There appear to be 2 Lewis roads in Kalamunda and one of them is wrong. First head for Wandoo road on your Sat Nav and then turn Left into Lewis road. I’ll have a bright orange flag on my bag.
What to bring essential: Plenty of water and food.
A good idea:
Nibbles and a picnic and decent piece of cake to offer the leader (Joke). A thermos. I carry a small plastic sheet to sit on.
What to wear: Dress weather appropriate. Thin layers are best. Bring a back pack. Good gripping footwear. Stilettoes not advised!
