  • Equinox Hike & Ceremony at Marpa Point, Sat, Sept 22, 2:30pm
    Pilgrimages and ceremonies are an ancient and living traditions of Peruvian shamanism. Join members of the local Pachakuti Mesa Tradition for a hike and ceremony at Marpa Point, on the beautiful and sacred land at Shambhala Mountain Center. This Saturday, Sept 22nd, at 2:30 PM. Meet at the SMC bookstore (just past the kitchen in the "downtown" area). If you miss us, ask for directions to Marpa Point. Walk up the road to the Stupa, then follow the trail up the hill. BRING: Bring your prayers and blessings, and anything from nature that you wish to offer to the Apacheta (a stone cairn near the top of Marpa Point). DON'T FORGET: Dress for the changeable weather of the mountains. Bring water. DIRECTIONS: Shambhala Mountain Center is about a 2 hour drive from Boulder and 1 hour from Ft. Collins. From Ft. Collins, take US 287 to Livermore. Turn left on County Road 74e (Red Feather Lakes Road). Drive through some beautiful countryside. Turn left on County Road 68c. Topics will include: * Shamanic journeys * Power Animals and Spirit Guides * The dimensions of Sacred Space * Shamanic dreamwork * Meeting and learning from your Chakra Animals * Soul-Retrieval and EMDR- Healing the Inner Child * Shamanism is an Earth-honoring spiritual path. Some sessions will include an offering of gratitude for Mother Earth, and a short ceremony inspired by Peruvian shamanism to send her healing energy. Other topics in the series can include: * Peruvian Shamanic Traditions * Limpias, cleanses, and clearings * Creating and using a mesa or altar * Ceremonies for the Earth * Offerings and despachos * Celtic Shamanism and the Sacred Landscape (e.g. Stone Circles, and the Hollow Hills filled with Earth Light) * Ancestors and the Otherworld * The Celtic Wheel of the Year Members will help select the topics and focus of our sessions.
