What we’re about

Our friendly group meets every Monday evening from 7pm-9pm when on zoom. We aim to meet in person on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month and for those evenings it's 7.15pm until 9.15pm. Our venue as of 2022, is Herlington Community Centre, 73 Herlington, Peterborough, PE2 5PW. (There is a big car park there and in the car park is a row of clothes banks. The entrance to the building is behind the clothes banks.). (What3works; ///local.quiz.award). Please note that the doors close at 7.15pm for security reasons. We will look out for people coming until 7.20pm but after that there will be no access.

If you’d like to join us then please email us at peterboroughbuddhistgroup@gmail.com with your email address and we’ll send you an invite.
We are a welcoming group of people, drawn together by our wish to explore Buddhism and meditate together. You do not need to consider yourself a Buddhist to join us - we are made up of people from all sorts of different cultures and backgrounds, and the group is relevant to anyone looking for personal growth and meaning. You do not need to have any experience of meditation to come along. Learning meditation is a life-long experience, so we all have to start somewhere! The evening is always structured so that new people will be given the support they need to join in.
Our classes run on donations and we suggest £7 although you are free to donate whatever you want. However we’d rather you come along even if you aren’t able to make a donation.

Options to donate;
·         Giving directly to the group (‘Triratna Peterborough’) via their Natwest account: sort code 55-50-42, account number 63151499 or
·         cash on the evenings we meet

There is a Peterborough Team made up of the Order Member (OM) and mitras (friends of Triratna) who meet approximately monthly to discuss the finances of the group, safeguarding, planning group activities such as who is leading the evenings, organising of events etc. If you have any ideas or concerns that you’d like to share with the team or the safeguarding representative then just ask whoever is leading that evening and they will point you in the right direction. If you are ever late to an in person event and you can see that the group is meditating we ask that you wait outside the room until the meditation is over so as not to disrupt the group.
