Reclaim your power as you learn about how your childhood experiences have affected your brain, your body, and who you are today. You can change your present by understanding your past! There’s a “Science Behind Your Story” and what researchers have discovered will help you see yourself and your life in a whole different light! You will finally be able to put the pieces of your puzzle together. You, your struggles, your life will finally all begin to make sense! SPEAKER BIO Leslie Peters R.N. often says “My Story is My Gift”, without it I wouldn’t be who I am today. I learned how to Live Life with H.E.A.R.T. (Honesty, Empathy, Acceptance, Relatability and Trust) because of the good, the bad and the ugly experiences of my life.” Leslie has learned many valuable life lessons in her 25 years working as an RN; the most impactful were those learned “on the streets” in the poorest areas of Philadelphia. The “at risk” women and children she provided care to may have lived in a different neighborhood than Leslie but the stories behind closed doors were quite similar. It is here that the most important lesson of all was learned. That lesson, in order to heal from hurt people need to feel seen, heard and that they matter. Leslie believes the way to achieve this is to incorporate the principles of H.E.A.R.T. Leslie inspires and educate others to ” roll up your sleeves, dive in and get comfortable with the uncomfortable; share your shame so others will allow you to walk through theirs with them. There's great power in being seen for who you are without the fear of judgment. It’s quite empowering”.
