Join Philipp Knirck (one of our own) for a more technical evening.
Phil will review the latest happenings in Bitcoin including how the industry came to a Segwit2X proposal without the support of core and how Bitcoin Cash emerged and led to a recent fork into two separate chains (BTC and BCC/BCH).
Philipp Knirck is a computer scientist and has been part of the bitcoin community since 2011 when he purchased his first bitcoins for $16. Though he dismissed it at first, when bitcoin reached $100 he realized this was something worth understanding. He leveraged his computer science background to study the technology of blockchains and, after seeing and believing in the profound implications of the technology, started to invest in Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptos.
Phil is an active member of the crypto community and publishes YouTube videos, writes Steem blogs, and has delivered educational presentations for large companies and special interest groups on Bitcoin, blockchain technology and “cryptoeconomics.” He is also regularly seen sporting an “Ask me about Bitcoin” t-shirt.
