Whenever we meet up, I'd like you to text or call my cell[masked] when you arrive at the venue or sooner if you would like. These shows are very dynamic with people traveling from a table to the bar to the dance floor or to talk to somebody.
What can I say? It's Rebirth!!! The play Thursday and Friday nights.
Mission Statement: Party!!! What we do: Go to night club shows, hand picked by me, to see and hear great bands. What to expect: Lots of funky New Orleans style Brass Bands, Zydeco/Cajun bands and other New Orleans and LA related music. Many of the bands come from there, but many are local like New Sounds Brass Band, Swift Technique and Philly Gumbo. Most of the Zydeco is presented by Allons Danser. Many bands come from NYC, Atlanta and elsewhere. There may even be a gospel show if I can find one.
Tired of that awful pop music and all that smooth whatever music being shoved down your throat? Come give us a try. It's said that the whole of New Orleans musicians is just one big band that breaks up into smaller different bands each night. New Orleans Jazz Fest goers, New Orleans and Louisiana music fans in general understand this. Most of the music will have a Jazz backbone, but not what most people think they know about Jazz.
I do want to meet you, but we don't wear name tags. This is not a dating group. We don't stand or sit at a table as a group. These are mostly night clubs. These shows are very dynamic with people traveling from a table to the bar to the dance floor or to talk to somebody. If you happen to make a friend or two, cool. They don't have to be from the group. These shows are one big party. Groove to the music, dance, eat, drink and talk to people. Best way to make a friend. You might be new to the music I like, but trust me, it's good stuff.
Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras goers welcomed big time! Oh by the way, no pop concerts or karaoke in this schedule. And PLEASE, don't call these shows concerts!
A few people may want to get together for a bite to eat before a show. That's cool. Let me know.
